Guidelines for Membership

I. Members of the Airedale Terrier Club of New England are primarily dedicated to the improvement and care of the breed: i.e.,

  • Good care, cleanliness and protection against the disease of their dogs in the home or kennel.
  • Efforts to avoid propagated serious hereditary characteristics in the breed.
  • A general understanding of the breed, ability to interpret pedigrees, and a knowledge of the meaning and                   implication of lineage.
  • Knowledge of the correct trimmed appearance of an Airedale Terrier either for pet or show.

II. Members of the Airedale Terrier Club of New England display good fellowship; i.e.,

  • Respect for fellow A.T.C.N.E. members and Airedale Terrier owners.
  • A genuine interest in the breed, a willingness to learn, and a desire to attend club functions which provide                   learning and participation opportunities.
  • Helpfulness towards "newcomers" in the breed.

III. Members of the Airedale Terrier Club of New England adhere to ethical considerations and standards, i.e.,

  • Exhibit in the show ring with respect and courtesy and adhere to the standards of the American Kennel Club.
  • Consider foremost the welfare of the puppy or dog.
  • Follow a reputable and honest code in the sale of puppies, adhere to standard price and procedures and abide by         the American Kennel Club codes regarding registration and correct pedigree information.
  • Refrain from using membership in the A.T.C.N.E. for questionable promotional practices.
